Lindner 4-wh tram #81
24 may 1963 - Kassel (DE) – Herkulesbahn, zajezdnia/depot Donche. The metre-gauge Herkulesbahn is still much missed and there are plans to rebuild the line. It ran on gradients of up to 12.5% into the attractive hills to the west of Kassel and carried lignite (brown coal) and stone traffic as well as passengers. Tram services finished in 1966, although a section was converted to connect with the Kassel city tramways. Here is their general arbeitswagen, which seems equipped to do anything! It was once passenger tram #5 and was built by Lindner in 1902. (photo - Ing G Gerlach)
