PCC 7700 #7719

7 june 2009 - Bruxelles, Place Poelaert. Prawie jak 102Na :))))

Bombardier T2000 #2003

7 june 2009 - Bruksela, Rue Royale. Muszę przyznać że śródmiejska część tego miasta robi niezłe wrażenie.

MAN SD202 #XNV 161

7 june 2009 - Bruksela, Kantersteen. Parę sztuk ex-berlińskich MANów SD202 spędza emeryturę w belgijskiej stolicy.

BN PCC 7000 #7055

26 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Cureghem. A view inside the STIB tramway works shows just how small the place is. PCC car 7055 is one of several now converted for use as works cars – in this case with a hydraulic platform that can swing out from a side door to load heavy equipment.

BN PCC 7000 #7008

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Cureghem. The STIB tramway workshops are in a narrow side street. Inside, the place is very cramped and there isn’t much room to work. Even the entrance is tiny and is a very tight squeeze, particularly as all trams have to enter backwards across a very busy street.

PCC 7900 #7918

26 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Porte d’Anderlecht. This tram is just passing one of the old Bruxelles city gates on its way into the pre-metro tunnels at Lemonnier. The single track in the foreground leads to the Cureghem workshops.

Bombardier T2000 #2002

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue Royale. A 2000-class tram. These frequently come off the track, so they are now limited to 50km/hour maximum speed. The same type of tram is used by De Lijn, but on metre gauge and flat ground – in Bruxelles, they have been a real problem and will be withdrawn when enough new Bombardier cars arrive. Does anywhere in Poland want some cheap, low-floor trams?

TB Standard #1064

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Ban Eik. STIB museum car #1064 at the end of the line. This track was once an electric railway and continued, behind the tram, to Terveuren, where tram line 44 now terminates. Now it’s a high speed tramway.

PCC 7700 #7721

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue de la Regence/Regentschaps. For JacekM.

BN PCC 7000 #7008

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Flagey. A new bus and tram interchange has been built here recently, complete with this remarkable glass roof.

STIB 9000 Series #9079

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue Francois Gay. The 9000 series were built on old ‘standard’4-wheel tram chassis to resemble the first Belgian PCC cars (which they weren’t).

Brossel A98 DAR / Van Hool #8246

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – depot/remise tram Scharbeek. Another museum bus. This one thinks it is a tram.

Brossel AB6DS / Ragheno #10 515

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Haren. One of the historic buses from the Bruxelles Transport Museum.

PCC 7900 #7927

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue Jules Lahaye. One of the ‘long’ articulated PCCs at Cimetiere Jette. Note that (unlike other Bruxelles trams) these run with two pantographs on the wire.

PCC 7700 #7792

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) - Cimetiere Jette. Tram 7792 passes the cemetery gates on a Line 51 service.

PCC 7900 #7950

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Cimetiere Jette. This is a complicated junction with four lines meeting and some trams terminating at peak times. Car 7950 is near the end of a long trip through the western suburbs with a Line 19 service.

PCC 7900 #7935

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Buhl. Tram 7935 turns towards Ixelles depot with a short-working Line 24 service. This is the only tramway ‘grand union’ in Bruxelles.

Mercedes-Benz O530G II #9030

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue Royale. This bus goes to Wiener – which in the German language means a type of sausage. Quite appropriate for a bendy bus. The architecture here is very nice.

Bombardier T3000 #3005

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Avenue Albert/Albertlaan. A ‘long’ Flexity car has just left the pre-metro tunnels and runs south towards Stalle, where there is a big park-and-ride terminus.

PCC 7700 #7822

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Botanique/Kruidtuin. The impressive basilica of the St. Maria church frames this tram as it approaches Rue Royale on a Line 94 service.

Bombardier T2000 #2004

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Stephanie/Stefania. Don’t ask – I don’t know why!

BN PCC 7000 #7157

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Ban Eik. To turn at the Ban Eik terminus, these single-ended PCC cars must use a triangle. Similar car 7164 in the distance has already turned and is starting its journey back to the city. At busy times, trams come here every couple of minutes.

BN PCC 7000 #7163

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – G J Martin. A modernised PCC turns towards the Montgomery tunnel entrance. These trams now operate only on Lines 39 and 44 (but not for much longer). Most of them are painted in this special ‘Express’ colour scheme.

BN PCC 7000 #7052

28 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – zajezdnia/depot Haren. This brand new tram depot opens today. I was allowed to take pictures, provided they were not published until the opening, so this is probably the first photo from this place. The tram is also one of the very first to enter the building. Several of these first-series PCC trams have now been converted to works cars. Note that the inspection pits have strong nets, to stop workers (and tram fans) from falling in.

Volvo B9TL/Unvi Urbis 2.5 #YKS-132

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue de la Regence. Another Volvo B9TL is captured as it passes a lovely art nouveaux building in central Brussels – one of the most famous in Belgium. From this angle, you can clearly see the folding canvas roof and wind-down windows (of the bus, not the building).

Volvo B9TL / Unvi Urbis 2.5 #YKS-131

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Avenue Louise/Louza. An upstairs view of the Volvo Urbis. On a good day, the windows go down and the roof rolls back. A good quality bus.

Volvo B9TL / Unvi Urbis 2.5 #YKS-133

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Avenue Louise/Louiza. Like most big cities today.there is a big sightseeing operation in Brussels. This company has spent much money on a fleet of new Volvo Urbis double deckers. Note the Russian language for visitors from that country – the only Brussels operator to do this. A TWB debut for this operator.

STIB 9000 Series #9079

28 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue du Doc. A nice 9000 series car from the Bruxelles Transport Museum eases through the sharp corners on the way to Montgomery. We can thank the local people living in this street for the decision to soon remove all the original Bruxelles 7000 series PCC cars from their two remaining routes – residents don’t like the noise the wheels make round these corners. I hope they liked the nice big squeals made by this 4-wheeler…….

TB Standard #1064

28 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue Jan-Baptiste. This was the standard Bruxelles tram type until PPC cars arrived in the 1950s and was later used as a works car. It has been retained by the Transport Museum and nicely restored.

Bombardier T3000 #3024

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Churchill. This is a crazy tram place. Short Flexity Outlook #3024 has stopped in the centre of the tramway circle with a Line23 service, so passengers can change to Line 3, where two long Outlooks are waiting to leave for the city centre. The loop is so small that the trams almost make a complete circle.

MAN SD200 #142

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Louisa/Louize. The publicity for this tourist service says ‘Tour Brussels on London buses’ – of course, we know better! This MAN is probably ex-BVG Berlin and this is the nearest to London it has ever been……..tourists won’t know this, though. It looks as though it still has the remains of a Berlin destination on the screen.

Neoplan N5217 SHDC #NM-ST 780

29 march 2009 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – Louisa/Louiza. When I saw this coach, I first thought it was a Stealth Bomber. I never saw such a bus in UK before, although I think they are now quite common in Europe. A TWB debut for this operator, who runs several of these unusual machines. A very unusual design and looks very sexy in all-black paint. I guess the bombs are carried underneath?

Chevrolet P30 / Thomas Mighty Mite #LME 965

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – Barriere de St Gillies. A chance transatlantic meeting at the famous Barriere tramway junction, as the American- inspired PCC turns in front of a typical American school bus, now used for tourist operations. A debut TWB operator - can anyone identify the make and model of the bus?

Brossel A98 DAR / Van Hool #8246

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – zajezdnia/remise Haren. Another vehicle from the Bruxelles Transport Museum collection, seen at the entrance to the new Haren tram depot. This is a typical 1960s Belgian city bus. The new tramway depot in the distance opens this Friday.

Brossel AB6DS / Ragheno #10 515

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – Gare de Schaerbeek. A 1939 bus from the Bruxelles Transport Museum stands outside the very ornate railway station buildings at Schaerbeek. This museum is so large, they have at least two of these – this one is operated and another rests in the museum.

BN PCC 7000 #7164

12 august 2000 - Bruxelles/Brussel, Belgium – Houba de Strooper. Two classic BN PCCs stand in the terminal stub of Line 18. This stub terminus is no longer used and the few remaining PCCs also have only a very short time to run.

Brossel / Paul D`Heure / ACEC #6023

14 august 1999 - Bruxelles, Belgium – transport museum. Bruxelles ran trolleybuses until 1964. The most modern type were these ACEC/Brossel buses of 1956. Only Ghent now operates trolleybuses in Belgium, and even this little line is due to close soon.

BN PCC 7000 #7047

20 april 2002 - Bruxelles, Belgium – depot and museum Woluwe. Tram 7047 from the first batch of Bruxelles PCC cars when still in original colour. Last week, it was stated that regular use of 7000-class trams will end this winter – your last chance to ride these classic and very historic PCCs if you can, the first in Europe and a big influence on the development of Konstal and Tatra PCCs. There are just a few left!

La Dyle / ACEC #5025

25 may 2003 - Bruxelles, Belgium – depot and museum Woluwe. STIB has a very nice museum (currently closed for building work) and operates several historic trams, including this 1935 city car. Quite basic construction, rather like a box on wheels, but these lasted a long time in regular service.

PCC 7700 #7791

16 august 2008 - Bruxelles, Generaal Jacqueslaan.

PCC 7700 #7737

june 2007 - Bruksela: Auderghem/ Oudergem. Niedługo będzie jeszcze bardziej historyczne - w maju 2008 ruszyły prace nad budową nowej trasy od H.-Debroux via Vorstlaan do stacji metra Roodebeek.

16 august 2008 - Bruksela, Churchill. I na koniec dzisiejszego zrzutu coś bardziej normalnego i z motywem ludzkim. Od jutra już normalnieje – obiecuje :P
